I started using Desk Away not long after I wrote the first post in this series on getting organized with technology. I typically do not care for online project management applications because they tend to be what I like to call too “technically bulky.” In other words, they have too much going on for me, let alone my contacts, to figure out. I needed something that was effective yet simple.
I can say that Desk Away does just that. I am thrilled with what it is allowing me to do with my daily productivity in my work-at-home business. I am starting to breeze through tasks and find that I have more time on my hands for me and the things I need to do at home.
The tutorials are clear and very thorough without talking over your head. They are also very quick to go through – I love that.
Desk Away is a system that includes a place to send comments to your contacts, a document creator, file uploader, time sheet section, reports, and more. It even has a blog where you can communicate with all of your contacts at once. Another great plus is the “Issues” section where you can share specific concerns with your clients or contact.
It is a great system to help you keep email down, connect with clients, keep track of your time, and save files.
If you have clients that you need to communicate with, you can do that in a very efficient manner with Desk Away. The good thing is that you won’t have to train them because there are tutorials for them to utilize and learn. I have not heard anything but good things from my clients about how much they love Desk Away. They are using it more than me. They also love the fact that their project is completely private!
I still use my notebooks for planning and brainstorming, but I transfer all my plans to Desk Away at the beginning of the week and adjust them as needed. I never lose emails or files now.
It is inexpensive, very user friendly, and free to get started. Desk Away truly sticks to its promise of being able to provide simple, powerful and affordable tools that help people work smarter.

Thanks LaTara for posting the article link on Twitter. I’m going to be stopping back by Digital Bliss again in the future and checking out DeskAway.
LaTara thank you so much for introducing DeskAway to me. It is a very nice tool. And let me tell this you write very nice. I enjoy reading your posts.
Hello LaTara,
Thank you for reviewing DeskAway and glad you are liking the tool! We have some interesting features to come in the next few months…
Thanks for pointing me in this direction LaTara. As a virtual assistant I use another project management system but there is a really cool thing about this one…you can share a calendar link with people who aren’t on projects within your Desk Away account and they can view public events on the calendar. Love it! What a great way to share my kids’ soccer schedule with the grandparents!
Great Sundi! See we can even use online technology to help us with family stuff too. LOVE IT!
