Since I had a million and two things on my to-do list I really couldn’t think of blog post topics. I was turning to link posts and PLR when it struck me, “Hey, why not do a “Best of 2010″ post?” Compiling my best simple vlogging tips was definitely easy on the brain and good for my blog too.
Wrap up the year with a wrap up post.
If your blog is new and you don’t have much to choose from you could make a list of your favorite
- blogs to read,
- people on twitter,
- comments or commenters.
I choose to pick one post from each month in 2010. I didn’t even add any commentary; just made a plain list. The beauty of the “best of” posts is that they can be as long or as short as you want. You could pick your best
- tips,
- reviews,
- recipes,
- photographs,
- or reflective posts.
If you are using WordPress [and you should be] it’s easy to search by date or topic in the Posts page. Make sure that each post you pick for your “best of” list has a link to another one of your posts. Give your readers an easy way to stay on your site.
You can have an easy topic, help your site’s stickiness, and give your readers the gift of the best on your site.

I’ve been writing a wrap up post for the last couple of years and love the exercise. I think it’s great to go back through a year’s worth of posts and see what I’ve talked about and how I’ve grown.
