Families are separated by geography more and more, and as one who’s kids are starting to move away either for jobs (*waves to son in Chicago) or college (*waves down south to daughter in Savannah) I want to keep in touch. We use skype a lot, and sometimes rely on our computer’s built in camera. That’s great when we sit around the den or office for a quick chat. But sometimes you want something a little higher quality or perhaps something you can pick up and pan the room so everyone can say “hi”.
I’ve been using the Logitech product for years. It was the first webcam we owned. I’ve tried the high end and lower price versions. I just keep upgrading as new ones come out. Even as my computers upgrade, the cameras integrated in them just don’t have the same clarity as the Logitech. It’s a huge difference from one to another. And with different price points, there is one for every budget.
Logitech is also very user friendly. Basically a plug and play, I never have issues getting my computer to recognize the new camera. That is probably also a function of the “smartness” of newer computers, but also Logitech’s easy integration. Even though I’ve received review items over the years for myself, the brand is one that I would buy (and have bought) for family to keep in touch.
Even grandma can work the camera. They easily plug into the USB and you can adjust the position or as I said pick it up and move it around the room so everyone can be a part of the call. If grandma and grandpa can’t be there for present opening, you can live stream it on the Logitech, or record it for later.
This is one family gift that you can buy for any family member and one that will certainly be appreciated!
