Make Your Own Favicon

I remember the days when that little icon in the address bar of my web browser was almost always the Firefox or Internet Explorer logo. But these days, it’s rare to see the default icons because it’s become so easy for anyone to make a favicon customized for their site. If you don’t have one yet, here’s how to get one:
- Favicon from Pics: Upload any image and this site generates your favicon. You can make your favicon animated and add color or text.
- Favicon Generator: At this site you must upload an image that is 100 pixels x 100 pixels. Because you’re starting out with a properly sized image, this site makes a clean-looking favicon, but you need to be able to customize your image to 100px square on your own.
- Favicon.ico Generator: For the more artistic among us, this site allows you to actually paint your own 16 x 16 pixel favicon. You can also upload an image, then adjust the color, paint over it, and/or use animation.
