Paypal offers an iPhone app

PayPal has announced it’s new iPhone app, and it works with the popular “bump” feature. And while I don’t see you bumping with vendors online, it’s uses for personal or business transactions are limitless.

Splitting the check: We all know it’s easier to get one check at a restaurant than waiting for the waitress to split it.  Now one can pay and the other quickly and painlessly transfers the money to you via PayPal.

Kids at college: Out of town and not able to access your bank information online?  Send the money via PayPal, and if they have the PayPal debit card, your kids have immediate access to their funds.  (In fact I’m going to get both of my college age kids a card when this post is over)

Business transactions: Out on the road without internet connections?  Now you have the ability to pay for transactions via PayPal.  It’s the preferred method for many small businesses these days, especially those that don’t want the extra burden of credit card processing.  Handle payments received, refunds and purchases all with your iPhone.
