There is a new trend today in camcorders that is really taking off.  Several manufacturers are offering the new hand held cameras that are easy to carry, easy to use, and make it easy to transfer your videos to computers.

You may be most familiar with the Flip Ultra and Mino (available in HD too), which was the first on the scene to produce quality videos.  The Ultra runs on 2 AA batteries while the Mino is easily charged with the USB arm with your computer.  The Mino HD captures a widescreen video.  You have the ability to make minor edits in the program and create simple movies.

You also have the ability to personalize your Flip with your favorite photo, logo, or design.  I love mine personalized with my blog logo.

The Kodak Zi8 captures memories in 1080p HD video. Image stabilization helps you stay in focus while you are . Create videos that you can watch directly on your HDTV or share on Facebook or YouTube using the built-in USB arm.  While I have not tried this one, I hear it works with an external mic which makes if great for interviewing.

The Sony Bloggie is made for just that…video blogging.  1960×1080 resolution and 5 mp still camera quality are great features…but it is unique in the handhelds in that you can flip the screen and watch yourself as you vlog. You can also turn it on it’s side to view what you have videoed on a 2.5 inch swivel screen. I have not personally checked this one out either, but with hot features such as face detection and 5x optical zoom,this looks like it would be a blogger’s best friend.
