The Internet has become a tool of epic proportions. While trends like online shopping have steadily risen in popularity, so to have social network specific topics, including bargain hunting.
Traditionally, it has been forums and interactive websites that have dominated this market, with Facebook slowly rising in the ranks. But Twitter has come up to speed in the last two years, and especially in the last 18 months, when more people than ever are desperate to save some cash.
Use Twitter Search
You can find some great discounts, coupons, sales and savings by using the administrative and user generated tools that are now available on Twitter. What you want to do is seek out more specific Tweets from the website at large, and users that you may not usually know. A good way to do this is to search out terms from their updates, such as “discount”, “coupon”, “Black November”, “Black Friday” or anything else that might relate. You can also search out specific businesses in your area to see if they have Twitter accounts with updated deals.
Another cool way to use Twitter search is to search twitter for questions. Just use question mark following your search query (with a scpace) to get more questions.
Example: [iPhone coupons ?]

Twitter Bots
Twitter bots are another great resource. There are several that have been created to search out deals by comparing prices to databases and internally within websites. One popular one is @BuyItLater, and another is @TrackThis. Some are only useable on certain browsers, however (Buy it Later requires Firefox or Flock). But you should be able to see both specifications and complete installation and use instructions on their official websites.
Desktop Clients
Desktop agents that have been created specifically for Twitter are another great idea. Of these, the most popular out there is Seesmic. Available for computers on any OS, as well as mobile phones and other devices, you can configure it using their many varied plug-ins available through their official store. One of those is a shopping category, with several different specifications based on product genre. Keep in mind that you need to have Adobe Air for this to work, but that is easy to get at their official site.
Specialized Account
Twitter has a user account called @Shopping, which lists a number of facts, news stories, deals and updates on a semi-regular basis. It is worth following to keep an eye on what they have to offer. You can also use company Twitter sites that are online-based, such as @PayPayShopping, which offers frequent Tweets leading to the latest deals from their affiliates, like eBay, Beauty.com, Timberland and more.
Many great coupon aggregators are also on Twitter. @CheapStingy (powered by CheapStingyBargains.com) is my personal preference for it up-to-a-point saving updates on Dell deals, Kodak and Nokia coupons, etc):

Twitter is a great way to keep up with friends update family or just have a personal space to get your views and daily happenings out on the web. From a marketing standpoint it is more common than ever to see it listed as a campaign and advertising source.
For the consumer, this means nearly constant opportunities for savings, coupons and deals you can’t believe. Check out what they are offering now and start keeping your cash in your wallet while still getting exactly what you want and need.
