I have an issue with Twitter. I need to follow lots of people because I keep meeting very cool people. I want to follow other people, but when I check out the Twitter profile I see a whole page of random tweets sent out to everyone.
“I’m having soup for lunch”
“I’m tired”
“doing bills”
Seriously, it’s ok to do this a few times a day, but 10, 20, 30 tweets in a row?
Over on TwiTip, there is a great list of tips for you to peruse. My favorite is this one:
“Pick what’s important. You could use twitter to talk about your day down to the bowel movements, but then you’d have nobody following you. People follow you on twitter because what’s important to you is a match with what’s important to them, so share it!”
Seriously, no bowel movement tweets, please? Now go on over to Twitip for the other 9 great tips.

I agree. It’s best to think of it like a message board AND a place to connect with people. Many tweets should bring information to the table or be part of a discussion. Twitip rocks BTW!
Great tip! I’ve seen plenty of those types of tweets. It’s a fun place, but I do agree that sometimes the board is filled up with pretty useless stuff.
I’m visiting from SITS today! Thanks for the tip!

I started Twittering a few months ago and just don’t know how much I like it. Really, what is the point? I think Facebook does it for you with a lot more content.
I’m visiting from SITS. I don’t use Twitter yet still checking it out.
