Eating in the evening makes you fat Not if you eat properly. Remember it is the total number of calories you take in and not so much when you take them in that is important.
The problem is many struggle with staying on a healthy diet all day and then give into the temptation of high fat, high sugar foods in the evening hours as tiredness or alcohol kicks in. That big bowl of ice cream can be an irresistible temptation at 10 p.m. if you let down your guard.
Plan for the evening time of temptation if you are susceptible to temptation. A box of your favorite healthy cereal is a great treat that, in my opinion, makes a suitable substitute for a bowl of Ben and Jerry’s. It helps to keep a mental picture of what you’ll look like in five years if you eat a bowl of ice cream every night, versus what you’ll look like if you eat a bowl of healthy cereal with low-fat milk and no added sugar. It works for me! You know what food treats help you avoid the calorie traps.
So if you struggle with weight don’t starve at night but plan ahead to have part of your daily caloric intake consumed when you are most likely to cheat on your diet, in the evening. A little planning goes a long way toward you reaching your weight loss goals and maintaining the perfect weight for you.
