For those of us who are trying to lose weight we know it can be an uphill battle. I’ve discovered a new way of working off those extra pounds while having a great time in the process.
Zumba is a dance/aerobic fitness system that has turned into a craze worldwide. It combines Latin music with simple dance moves to give you a workout that is fun and enjoyable.
I first learned of Zumba a few months ago when I was still pregnant with my second child. One of my best friends learned about a Zumba class in our area and told me about it. We had had some recent conversations about wanting to lose weight, and she seemed excited about the opportunity to join the class after talking with some other ladies about it. She tried it, and was instantly hooked!
Of course you know I had to give it a go. Wow! The workout was definitely a workout. I stretched muscles I didn’t even know I had. The dancing makes it feel like a fun night out rather than a workout so that is a plus. I had to keep going. I even bought the DVD’s off of eBay to workout at home! My four year old just loooooves working out with mommy in front of the television. If you haven’t tried this yet, you do not know what you are missing.
Go to zumba.com for more information on finding instructors and classes in your area. There are also plenty of YouTube videos that show different variations of Zumba. If you are on the path to losing weight, get on board with Zumba. You won’t regret it.
