Here’s DeAnna’s gorgeous room! Read on to see her entry…she is an amazing woman!

Attached is a room I redecorated after we moved into our house. It is really the only room that has been completed since out move a year ago. We didn’t have a lot left in the budget to buy new furniture so I decided to “re-purposed” some old furniture dating back as far as college (that is about 18 years ago). A friend helped sew the curtains which are a result of 90″ curtain panels I bought on sale for $19 and fabric added for length with fabric that I bought at Hobby Lobby to make them 108″. This fabric matches the chairs I recovered my self. I painted what was once black chairs and a maple colored buffet from IKEA in the 90′s in a soft silver and gold mix. The light fixture was a “toss away” from my in-laws home when they re-decorated. This room was completely redone for under $100 (the metallic paint was the most expensive). As a result there was little waste since things were refinished and used again (very Green as well).

This room speaks “peacefulness” to me since it is the only room without toys and paperwork everywhere. My husband and I moved when our home became too small for two home businesses and our 2 year old son named Christian. I left my 15+year corporate career to start my own business after we lost our first son Jackson in 2004. I wanted to find a way to give back to others. I create collections dedicated to various children’s stories that support their causes. Because I give so much of my income from the business there is little left to hire a house keeper to help out. With a 2 year old and business full time there is not a lot of time left over for major cleaning or budget to hire a housekeeper. We host couples in our home every other weekend as small group leaders for our church. It would be so nice to have a clean house.
