Crisp Chocolate and Soft Cream Cookies. You don’t have to say more than that and people automatically think, Oreo.
Synonymous with chocolate, good times, milk and crunch, Oreos are as much a part of our culture and family life as apple pie, milk and ice cream.
Well today, Oreo turns 97! Happy Birthday Dah-ling, you don’t look a day over… a day
Oreo is having a blast this year and offering people the chance to challenge each other to a lick off. You can watch Venus and Serena (yes, that Venus and Serena) and Peyton and Eli (YES, that Peyton my husband’s favorite QB of his favorite team ever and his brother, Eli) face off in the DSRL (double stuf race league), enter contests and more. Oreo is even offering Oreo lovers the chance to visit the DSRL page and enter to win a chance to be coached by those famous siblings.
Coached for what you ask?
Just the chance to enter an Oreo lick race in April and win $10,000. YUM!
My husband and daughter held their own Double Stuf Lick Off in honor of Oreo’s 97th birthday and I videotaped it just for my own pleasure you!
Our only question, who won?

Oreo is not only delicious but generous! I have a fantastic blue portable cooler stuffed with goodies to give to one of my readers! It has a pack of Double Stuf Oreos (NOM NOM) a sweatband like the one Princess is rockin’ in the video, two milk cups (as seen in the video), an official DSRL card and a jersey!!
Want to win this sweet birthday pack?
Leave a comment on here telling me your favorite way to eat Oreos: do you dunk, twist, lick, stuff or crunch?
For an additonal entry: tell me your favorite Oreo recipe in a separate comment.
*this contest runs from 12:00 AM March 6th to 11:59 PM March 6th CST

I like to nom nom nom nom nom nom
I am all about dunking in milk and sometimes I even just eat all the cream out first. Hee hee hee.
Oh…and my all time fav oreo recipe is grasshopper pie. Nothing better than oreos and mint ice cream. Yummy!
I love to dunk especially double stuft! We just bought a box of Oreo Cakesters to try out and those are pretty darn delicious as well!! Please let me win!! I need Oreos being overdue on my 4th child’s delivery.
Super easy dessert recipe:
A Bowl of Vanilla Ice Cream
Topped with Broken Oreos
With Chocolate syrup
YUMMY!
My favorite way to eat an Oreo is to get a bowl of them, take off one of the cracker sides, toss it back in the bowl, and eat what’s left. Some time I dunk it long enough so I have to use a spoon to get it out.
ooooo – I love me some Oreo! Pull ‘em apart, eat the cream, take bites of the cookie part, chew, then a drink of milk and swish. Repeat.
Heaven!
Personally, I like to put the whole thing in my mouth, chew, swallow, and repeat. Milk does not necessarily have to be involved.
I always twist in half and then eat the middles. Not sure why, they are good in any way – I think it’s because it lasts longer that way.
Tweet Tweet! I Tweeted and Facebooked you! YUM!
i like to lick the icing out, put the cookies back together, and place them back on the plate as a surprise for someone else
Brilliant! My brother and I developed our advanced technique as children:
1. Carefully twist off lid and nom nom nom
2. Peel icing off bottom of cookie, lick palm of hand and stick icing to palm of hand for safe keeping.
3. Dunk bottom of cookie in milk and enjoy.
4. Slowly lick away icing from palm of hand, enjoying every second and watching mom turn purple over the mess.
It’s the best of cookie goodness!
I twist the top off, scrape the cream off with my teeth, then dunk the chocolate in milk. It’s the way I’ve always eaten them and teach my kids the same way. Great giveaway and Happy Birthday Oreo!
Straight out of the package I keep hidden in my secret stash, so no one else finds them.
I just open up a bag and eat! mindless oreo eating….works for me!!!!
my favorite oreo recipe is the ghosts in a graveyard halloween recipe you can find it here http://food.yahoo.com/recipes/kraft/54472/ghosts-in-the-graveyard
I like my Oreos dragged through peanut butter and then dunked in milk! YUM!
