Recently, I was asked to try out the new Oreck Halo™, Oreck’s new vacuum with UV-C light technology that actually kills viruses, dust mite eggs, flea eggs, bacteria, and mold with no more effort on your part than running the vacuum.
I went to their website first (the Oreck website) to learn more about the technology and the science behind how this vacuum really works. I was somewhat horrified to learn that the floors I thought were clean, the floors I vacuum and sweep everyday, could still be crawling with bacteria and dust mites.
In a typical home, “carpet can contain approximately 200,000 microbes of bacteria per square inch, and as many as 100,000 dust mites per square yard.”
Invented by the parents of newborn triplets and a long time professional in water treatment using UV-C light, Oreck™ has combined this technology with their super powerful vacuum.
I was surprised with the power of this vacuum cleaner. It is an upright and relatively small and light weight. I was not expecting the impressive amount of suction, especially when using the attachments. And my carpets were noticeably cleaner after using the Oreck Halo™, even though I do vacuum everyday. Add in the germ killing power of the UV-C light and I’d say Oreck’s new vacuum is well worth the investment.

Make sure to visit the Oreck website for more information and videos about this new technology and how it can help you in your home.

Exactly what type of attachments does this vacuum have, the oreck website does not mention attachments at all, that i could find.
It came with a crevice tool and also an upholstery brush, but the connector tube is round and I was also able to use my “as seen on tv” dryer lint kit to hook up to it as well and vacuum all the lint out of my dryer. I hadn’t been able to use it with my previous upright vacuum because the attachments didn’t fit.
