That is a picture of a bag of dried fruit.
Not exactly something that makes my heart go pitty pat or my tastebuds start watering. Don’t get me wrong. I love me some raisins and I’ve been known to cook with dried cranberries but typically, if you mention dried fruit… I’ll shrug my shoulders while my conscious nudges me about health benefits and easy transportation of these nifty, healthy little snacks.
Recently, I received an email about trying out Sunsweet’s Phillipine Pineapple (dried fruit snack) and my interest was piqued. Really? Dried Pineapple???!!! My husband and my son’s favorite fruit of all time is pineapple… my LEAST favorite food to prepare… pineapple.
(are y’all starting to see why I agreed to test these?)
The bag arrived and I cautiously opened them and handed a not quite gummy (firm but slightly squishy consistency, not sticky but, not quite dry) pineapple treat to my 2 year old. He, of course, stuck it directly in his mouth… chewed and then… the eyes got as wide as saucers, the mouth curved up at the corners and he said “dat’s good mommy, can I haves more?” My husband and I each ended up getting to try one piece. One single solitary piece of the pineapple because Monkey, took the bag, huddled on his bench and devoured it in no time flat.
I’m always looking for something easy to transport in my car or stroller that’s a HEALTHY after school snack, playgroup treat, soccer halftime snack or even just something that I, as a mom that goes 90 miles an hour, can snack on and feel good about.
These Sunsweet Philippine Pineapple snacks? They’re it. I would have them in my pantry right now, if my grocery store carried them. (I have a request in to them right now).
Two of y’all are going to receive a re-usable Sunsweet Shopping Bag and a coupon for ANY Sunsweet product up to $5.50 in value (I highly recommend the Pineapple but, you can try whichever you’d like)!!! I love giveaways

I am game because you will not believe what I’ve gotten into…prunes. Sunsweet’s actually but I keep them at my desk. Orangette does a beautiful prune cake and I love using dried fruits in pilafs and tagines. They provide the perfect balance of sweet to the savory and don’t add a lot of fat to the dish!
The BEST way to enjoy dried fruit is with a chocolate fountain! It’s safer because your fruit isn’t likely to slide off the skewer like fresh fruit would, and it’s still super tasty!
We personally love the Sunsweet little paks of prunes for on the go. There are 3-4 soft, plump, moist prunes per little packet–perfect for throwing in a purse or backpak. Which is exactly what we did this summer while visiting the DC area!! They were delicious. I would love coupons to surprise my college daughter with a package in the mail.
I’d love t try the mangoes- they look yummy!!
My daughter won’t each much besides fruit (and cheese), so we love dried cherries, strawberries, and blueberries for an afternoon snack between school pickup and dinner. We put the dried fruit in a small bowl with broken up/crushed granola and she gobbles it up. She refuses to eat granola (or any product like that) without the fruit mixed in.
I must say my favorite way to use dried fruit is snacking and pinepaple (while I’ve never had this brand) is one of my favorites. How awesome would it be to try for free!!
Love, love, LOVE dried cranberries. I add them to cereal, oatmeal, banana bread, carrot cake, pretty much anywhere I can sneak them in. I’m looking forward to trying the pineapple! Rachel, thanks for the heads-up on this site (via Twitter); I’m off to explore!
I love to eat them right out of the package. We also bake quick breads with them.
I like to use dried fruits to jazz up cereal granola–like do-it-yourself Raisin Bran!
Honestly, you sold me on trying the pineapple, but my husband would probably like the individually-wrapped dates for work snacks.

I looked at the grocery store today and didn’t see the Phillipine pineapple, so that’s the one I’d most like to try whenever I can find it!
You convinced me about the pineapple. I love dried banana chips but would LOVE to try the pineapple!
