I’m a Texan, I marinate.
I marinate a lot. It is one of my favorite ways to tenderize tougher meats, add spice and flavor meats and even season veggies.
One of the biggest problems that I have though, is that Plastic Bags don’t stand up and they end up leaking in my fridge, or the containers take up too much room and don’t evenly distribute the marinades.
Until now that is. I was sent a baggie of Ziploc’s new expandable bottom bags to try out and I am officially sold on them. I dropped my chicken into the baggie, dumped in my marinade and the bag stood up the whole time! No slithering or wobbling baggie that I had to hold with one hand, while precariously pouring in my marinade and hoping against hope that it didn’t dump over and spill everywhere.

Do you see that? It is standing up ON ITS OWN! Hallelujah!
That’s right, that is FIVE chicken breasts, tons of marinade, lemons and rosemary and the bag stands up all on its own! Thank you Ziploc for your expandable bottom bags. Just to test them, I closed it and turned it upside down and all around while I smooshed my chicken and marinade together. NO LEAKAGE!
One of the best parts. They stand up in my fridge and take up WAY less room than the traditional baggies that had to lie down or be propped up in the fridge! I can even put two of these side by side in the fridge with no worries!

Isn’t that awesome! I’m a foodie, this excites me

Olive oil, Rosemary, Soy Sauce, Garlic and lemon. A little salt and pepper before you put the chicken on the grill and you’re set!
I my favorite marinade is a orange teriyaki marinade. It’s the best! These stand up bags would be awesome for my many, many freezer meals I’ll be making over the next couple of weeks to prep for the coming of my new baby!!!
The easiest marinade ever for days when I’m in a hurry – a bottle of Italian salad dressing. Add chicken, grill it later. It’s delicious!
I love the Zip n Steam bags. They make it really easy to steam vegetables!
I love marinating chicken in Italian Dressing. And for something different marinate it in French Dressing!
The steak and Chop marinade from Lawrys is awesome too for beef.
I’m not adventurous to create my own marinades yet. Unless you count the pork rub and beer marinade from your pulled pork recipe!

Favorite product is the quart sized storage bags! They are the perfect size and shape for most things I need to store!
Favorite marinade for filet mignon (3-4 8 oz filets)
1/2 c olive oil
1/4 Aloha shoyu sauce (from Hawaii)
Montreal steak seasoning 3-4 tsp
I use the ziplock storage bags but I had no idea about the expandable ones! Sounds so much better!
Honey and Balsamic Vinegar on salmon.
I like having all the different sizes. I keep snack, sandwich, quart, gallon and 2 gallon bags on hand. It makes my life easier.
Rum, rum, rum. I marinated steak in rum this week and it was delicious. Ziplocs are great for marinating, or freezer storage.
My total fav is soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and a handful of brown sugar. It is great on absolutely everything. Can’t wait to try the new bags!!
