Okay, maybe I only wish that but, I do love cookies.. gingerbread, sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate chocolate chip... you name them, I love them.  Just call me Cookie Momster (hee hee, get it) One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the smell of piping hot cookies baking in the oven and the bright, shining eyes of my family and friends as I serve up plates of decorated cookies and the sounds of their sighs as they crunch delightedly on some of my favorite homemade treats. This Christmas season, I want to share with y'all some of my favorite cookie recipes and I want y'all to share your favorite cookie recipes with me, too.  I am going to feature 12 days of Cookies here on Blissfully Domestic.   … [Read more...]

Strawberry Vanilla Tiramisu

The other day I was talking to some French friends about the famous Italian dessert Tiramisu when I realised that none of them knew that Tiramisu means "cheer me up" in Italian. I think it's probably the most genius dessert name anyone as ever come up with and pretty much summarise the meaning of all desserts in general.  Although I have never been that much of a fan of Tiramisu when I was younger I am starting to experiment more with recipes and  I have learnt to enjoy this classic. This spring version is super quick and easy to make and a perfect dessert for a tea party or a dinner. It’s colourful and fresh and it will surely cheer your mum up if her Mother's Day in anything but perfect! Recipe Cream: 3 large egg yolks (at room temperature) 3 tbsp. sugar 1 … [Read more...]

Flan {Cinco de Mayo}

Cinco de Mayo is in just a few days! Let's celebrate! All throughout my schooling, I took Spanish. Every year all of us kids would look forward to Cinco de Mayo parties. There would be loads of tacos, burritos, virgin margaritas, fried ice cream, and of course, flan! Never before in my life did I like flan. I tried it once back when I was little and decided I didn't like it...never trying it again. I'm so glad, despite my preconceived notion that flan was gross, that I tried this recipe. I love the creamy texture and sweetness! If you've never had it before, or think that you don't like it like I did, give it a try. It's a good blend between a cheesecake and pudding. Smooth and delicious! Plus, it helps that this recipe is a little 'lighter' in fat and calories. … [Read more...]
