Eggcellent Dyed Deviled Eggs for Easter
Ingredients:
- One dozen hard boiled eggs, cooled
- 1/2 block cream cheese (4 0z.), room temperature
- 1 tbs. mustard
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Salt, pepper and granulated garlic to taste
- Paprika for dusting
- Assorted food coloring, colors of your choice
- Plastic disposable cups
What to do:
- After your boiled eggs have been cooled down, peel the shells off and dispose of them.
- Cut each egg in half down the long side (“hotdog” style) and empty the yolk halves into a bowl. Repeat with remaining eggs and set aside.
- Take plastic disposable cups and add a few drops of your desired food coloring to each cup. Add one cup of water to each cup and stir.
- Place one egg half in each cup and allow to sit for a few minutes to absorb the color.
- Remove egg halves and set on a paper towel to allow excess coloring to drip off and dry.
- Repeat with remaining egg halves, adding additional food coloring and water as needed to your cups to complete all halves.
- While the dyed eggs are drying, mix the egg yolks, cream cheese, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and granulated garlic together with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Spoon mixture into a piping bag and pipe into egg halves. Top with a shake of paprika, and any additional topping of your choosing like bacon!
- Arrange eggs to fit your theme, such as on a cute egg plate, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Hop on over and have a taste of these egg-cellent dyed eggs and enjoy!
