I love this time of year! Maybe because it is the beginning of cool weather and the holiday season.. but I want to BAKE! My son is finally at the age where he can help me and actually enjoy sharing in the process, so I have been searching for some cute little treat ideas that we can try this season. Apple cinnamon muffins
When it gets chilly outside and the choice of seasonal fruits at the shops gets smaller and smaller apple cinnamon muffin are a good option for your weekend baking. When I was younger muffins were my favourite thing to bake, so now whenever it's rainy and gloomy outside I fell like throwing a batch together. These are made with spelt flour, sugar and cinnamon coated apples and not that much sugar and oil, which makes them a yummy option for your new year resolution breakfasts! Crockpot Applesauce
Can you feel the weather getting cooler yet? I am imagining sweaters and boots in my head because our temperatures still say its summer. I'm also imagining fall food because, let's be honest, its the best! I made this crockpot applesauce last week and my whole house smelled like fall. It was amazing! And the applesauce is pretty good too! I think the best part of this recipe (besides the heavenly smell) is how easy it is to make! You toss a few apples in a crockpot pot and in a few hours you have applesauce. Delicious, homemade, no sugar added applesauce! It's like fall in a crockpot.
